House Rules and Guidelines

These rules are exceptions to the rulebook and are changed to make the game more fun.
Pregame warm up 6:00 pm.
Game time 6:30m sharp. No complete inning to start after 8:00 pm until May 15 then extended to 8:15 pm. Playoff games will go to 8:30 pm. If score is tied at the end of time limit then it remains tied exception the playoff games must have a winner. Maximum game is 6 innings.
Visitors take first base side of the diamond and home team takes third base side. Home team sets out the bases and puts them away, MAKE SURE BOX IS LOCKED.
Confed supplies umpires. Home team gives umpire two good used balls and one new ball.
Pitching rule – pitcher can only pitch 2 consecutive innings per game. Pitcher cannot
re-enter the game as a pitcher if he has been moved to another position. One pitched ball is an
inning pitched.
Everyone bats in order with free substitution except for the pitcher. No player sits on the bench two innings in a row. Change lineup every game. Put players in different batting order game to game
Teams must have 7 players by 6:40 or game is an automatic forfeit even playoff games, no exceptions. If game is played, the game will be recorded as an exhibition game.
On game day if it has been raining, is raining or looks like rain before the game by 5 pm the two coaches must both decide to cancel and the HOME team calls John Jordaan Umpire in Chief – 780-456-1738 to cancel the game.
If the temp is 5° Celsius or LESS between 4:00pm and 5:00pm MST including wind chill there will be no games. Go to www.edmontonlittleleague.org and click on weather icon in upper right hand corner of home page to find out temperature. Call the other coach and HOME team calls John Jordaan Umpire in Chief –780- 417-1756 to cancel the game.
Pitchers rubber distance is 40 feet and bases are 60 feet.
Innings end after 3 outs or 5 runs score which ever occurs first. Maximum score per inning is 5 runs.
Runners cannot lead off or leave the base until the ball crosses the plate. Penalty is runner returns to the base. No base stealing in May. In June base stealing will be allowed.
Ball is alive on walks.
No infield fly rule or Balks. No third strike dropped pitch by the catcher.
Two adult base coaches will be allowed or one adult and one player wearing a helmet. An adult must be on the player’s bench at all times.
When the pitcher is on the rubber with the ball, base runners must be on their respective bases.
Pitcher’s foot must be the rubber for both the wind up and delivery of the ball.
Visits to pitcher, one per inning twice per game. More visits pitcher is automatically pulled. Exception if pitcher is hurt.
If a pitcher hits two batters in an inning or during the game he will be pulled in the interest of safety.
Catcher pitcher or at any base players cannot block the base unless he has the ball. If it is a close play, runners must slide at all bases. If the runner collides with a defensive player he will be called out and may be evicted from the game. At home the run will not score.
OVERTHROWS to first third or home, if the ball goes out of bounds the runner advances one base and if it is a runner on third he will automatically advance home and score a run.
Coaches and players must stay in the bench area and cannot go behind the screen and criticize the umpire. This is an eviction from the game.
There will be two games a week and a least one practice.
UNIFORMS ARE ONLY WORN TO GAMES AND NOT TO PRACTICE.
DON’T ARGUE WITH THE UMPIRES OVER A CALL OR YOU MAY BE ASKED TO UMPIRE.
No on deck swinging of bat on the field.
